วิธีใช้ Subject – verb agreement การสอดคล้องกันของประธานกริยา ในภาษาอังกฤษจะให้ความสำคัญกับรูปจำนวนของประธานกับกริยาเป็นอย่างมากนะคะ กริยาจะผันตามความเป็นเอกพจน์หรือพหูพจน์ของคำนามหรือสรรพนามที่เป็นประธาน แต่ถ้าในบางกรณีถ้าประธานดันมีตัวบอกปริมาณนำหน้าด้วยล่ะ เราจะดูยังไงว่าเป็นเอกพจน์พหูพจน์ ในบทนี้เราจะมาเรียนรู้กันค่ะ

 

– ส่วนใหญ่แล้วกริยาจะผันตามรูปคำนามที่อยู่ตามหลัง “of”

– One of, each of และ every one of + plural noun + singular verb

 

– One of my friends is here.

 

– Each of my friends is here.

 

– Every one of my friends is here.

 

– Every และ each + singular noun + singular verb

 

– Every man, woman, and child needs love.

 

– Each book and magazine is listed in the card catalog.

 

– None of + plural noun + singular verb (ในภาษาที่เป็นทางการ)

 

– None of the boys is here.

 

– None of + plural noun + plural verb (ในภาษาไม่เป็นทางการ)

 

– None of the boys are here.

 

– The number of + plural noun + singular verb ( the number of = จำนวนของ)

 

– The number of students in the class is fifteen.

 

– A number of + plural noun + plural verb (a number of = มาก)

 

– A number of students were late for class.
